RHEL Subscription Calculator (unofficial)
This tool helps determine the number and estimate the cost of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server subscriptions for a virtual environment.

|# of sockets to be covered:||2||N/A|
|# of virtual instances:||Unlimited||6|
|Required # of subscriptions:||1||3|
Host specification - since the Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Virtual Datacenters subscription model is based on the number of socket-pairs
in the systems used, this tool requires information about the number of servers/hosts and the number of CPUs per server.
Required # of Virtual Instances - the total number of RHEL Server VMs to be run in the environment. In a virtual environment,
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server subscriptions are based on the number of virtual instances pairs running the product.
This tool takes into account the following:
- The Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscription model is based on socket-pairs or virtual-instance-pairs.
- Subscriptions are stackable - multiple subscriptions of the same type can be applied to account for additional capacity.
- Each 1-socket system must be covered separately with a socket-pair subscription. That is, a single socket-pair subscription
can not be split across two 1-socket systems.
This tool does not take into account subscription/licensing requirements for the operating system or hypervisor running on the physical host.
Please note that Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Virtual Datacenters Subscriptions do not include an entitlement for the host
